Course Modules
Module 1 - Making a Trap Beat
Alan your tutor will take you quickly through the basic setup of FL Studio to make sure everything is working ok. Then you will start making a Trap beat, using creative methods and various drum & percussion sounds to get a rhythmical and fat beat. Whilst doing all of this you will be learning all about the FL Studio interface, how to layer kicks and a whole load more to help you get started.
Module 2 - Making A Trap Melody
Using easy to use tools In FL Studio 20 you will learn how to make a Trap melody from scratch using FL stock instruments. The melody of the track on top of the drums is what gives your tunes it's personality. This is a vital skill to master and Alan shows you how to do it with easily repeatable steps so that you can repeat this skill in any other track you want to make.
Module 3 - 808 Bassline
808 basslines are a hallmark of modern Trap tunes and it's essential you are able to pull this off. In order to make your bassline fat and punchy you need to get the melody right and then produce the bass in the right way. Here you will learn how to use your existing melody to pull musical info from to make your bassline and then how to process the 808 hit sample so that it sounds big and fat.
Module 4 - Arranging & Structuring A Trap Track
In this module you will learn about how to structure most forms of modern music including Trap. You will start to understand the basics of song structure, how to analyse other tracks and then arrange all the different sections of this Trap tune so that the listener stays pulled into the song all the way through. You will also learn to make each section of your songs sound distinct from one another.
Module 5 - Recording Vocals
Giving Trap is unique vibe has a lot to do with the vocals. Now we have created a backing track, we want to record a vocal for it. Here Alan collaborates with another artist who shows you their setup and explains their creative workflow. They also have a load of advise on vocal recording, and starting out in the music industry, how to get noticed, production values, realistic gear suggestions all coming from a deep background in Trap/Rap
Module 6 - Mixing, Mastering & Exporting
No-one will want to hear your song if it sounds like a mess, so it's really important to get the elements of your mix balanced together. In the remaining lessons Alan will show you how mix and master your tracks to give them a polished sheen that will play across all mediums. Using a variety of built in FL Studio plug ins, you'll learn to get the absolute best sound possible for your in the mixing and mastering stage.
Lesson 1) Settings And Importing Sounds
In this first free lesson you will go over the settings of FL Studio and make sure everything is setup properly and your keyboard or MIDI device is correctly setup (no keyboard or MIDI device needed)
Lesson 2) Making A Trap Beat
Here you will take what you learned in the first lesson and start to build your Trap beat. It's a super creative process which you can copy every single time you nake your own tracks
Lesson 3) Making A Melody
In this lesson you will start to make the basic Trap melody and learn the super easy process of how you do this in FL Studio 20
