Course Modules

Module 1 - Getting Started

In the first module you are going to learn all the basic principles of creating organic sounds and the setup for FL Studio that you will need to get started. Riley will take you through examples, ideas and approaches to making organic elements that you will be able to use in your own tracks and the reasons why it's so important to have an edge and create organic sounds and elements in your tracks

Module 2 - Recording

You can get organic sounds in many different ways but one of the best things you can do is record your own. Here you will learn how to record guitar & piano into FL Studio. You will also learn the recording setup and about mics and how to use them for best results, stereo or mono, how to mic a piano and guitar. Don't worry if you do not play, you are only recording one note that will become an entire melody

Module 3 - Melody Creation & Work Flow

To start this module you will learn a load of really great workflow tips in FL Studio and how best to keep your projects in order. You'll learn how to use the sampler in FL Studio to create an instrument and how to process it. Once you have created your instrument you can then start making your melody and start crafting the organic element into your track in a musical way

Module 4 - Mixing Organic Elements

When using single notes to create an organic melody there are considerations that must be taken into account like frequency masking and harmonic content. Here you will learn to mitigate that and also to mix the organic elements and melodies you have made into your track for the biggest impact in your mixes

Module 5 - Putting It Together

In this module you will learn all about how to build your tracks in an organic way. You'll be making beats sound organic with swing and timing adjustments, adding effects to the elements you have created and controlling it all with compression. Along with this you will be adding in the bassline and filling out your lead to make your track shine

Module 6 - Song Structure

In this module you will learn about the techniques that Riley uses in his own productions to build up the track section by section and keep the listener pulled into your music. It is essential to keep the listener interested and captivated and using the techniques you learn here will help you do this in your own tracks

Editing your recordings in FL Studio Edison

In this video from the first half of the course you will learn how to take a single note of your recording and edit in in the Edison sampler which is built into FL Studio.
