LIQUID - END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT
LIQUID - END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
This agreement is between you and [LEGAL NAME], trading as Born To Produce, of [ADDRESS] (company number [COMPANY NUMBER]) ("Born To Produce", "we", "us"). It covers the Liquid audio plugin, its presets, installers, updates and documentation (together, "Liquid"). By installing or using Liquid you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't install or use it.
1. The licence
1.1 Liquid is licensed, not sold. When you buy a licence, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Liquid, subject to these terms.
1.2 Each licence may be activated on up to 3 computers at the same time, all used by you. You can move a licence between computers by deactivating one, either in Liquid or on the My Plugins page of your account at borntoproduce.com.
1.3 You may use Liquid to make music and audio for any purpose, including commercial releases, broadcast, film, games and client work. Sounds you create with Liquid are yours, and we claim no royalties or rights in them.
2. Free trial
2.1 Liquid can be used free for 14 days on each computer. After the trial ends, Liquid keeps loading and keeps your settings, but it goes silent for 3 seconds every 30 seconds until it is activated.
2.2 Trial use is for evaluation only. These terms apply to the trial too.
3. What you may not do
Unless the law allows it despite this clause, you may not:
- Share, sell, rent, lend, give away or otherwise transfer Liquid or your licence key to anyone else.
- Use Liquid on more computers at once than your licence allows.
- Remove, disable or get around the activation, trial or licence checks.
- Copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer or disassemble Liquid, or make products based on it.
- Distribute Liquid's factory presets on their own, for example as a preset pack.
4. Activation and the data it uses
4.1 Liquid contacts our licensing server to start a trial, to activate, when it is loaded, and about once an hour while it is open. If you are offline, an activated Liquid keeps working for up to 60 days between check-ins.
4.2 To do this we process your email address, a one-way scrambled identifier for each computer (not your hardware details), each computer's name, the platform (Windows or Mac) and dates of activation and use. Our privacy policy at borntoproduce.com explains how we handle this data.
5. Refunds and cancellation
5.1 If you buy as a consumer, you can cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. Contact us through borntoproduce.com/pages/support.
5.2 When a purchase is refunded or cancelled, its licence ends and Liquid is deactivated on every computer automatically.
5.3 Nothing in this agreement affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
6. Updates and support
6.1 We may release updates to Liquid. Updates to Liquid version 1 are included in your licence. We may offer future major versions as a paid upgrade.
6.2 We provide support by email through borntoproduce.com/pages/support on a reasonable-efforts basis.
7. Ownership
Liquid, including its code, design, sounds and presets, belongs to Born To Produce and its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. Apart from the licence in section 1, no rights are given to you.
8. Liability
8.1 We supply Liquid with reasonable care and skill, and it should match its description on our website. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, Liquid is provided as it is.
8.2 Liquid works on your audio. Keep backups of your projects. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss of data, projects, profits, business or opportunity, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
8.3 As far as the law allows, our total liability to you for anything relating to Liquid is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.
8.4 Nothing in this agreement limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending this agreement
9.1 This agreement lasts until it ends under this section.
9.2 It ends automatically if your purchase is refunded or cancelled, or if you seriously break these terms, for example by sharing your licence. We may then deactivate your licence.
9.3 When it ends, you must stop using Liquid and delete it. Sections 3, 7, 8 and 10 continue to apply.
10. General
10.1 We may update these terms for future versions of Liquid. The terms you accepted continue to apply to the version you installed with them.
10.2 If any part of this agreement can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
10.3 This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, but if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring claims in your local courts.

Privacy policy addition
Add this section to the privacy policy on borntoproduce.com. UK GDPR requires telling customers what the licensing system stores and why.
Plugin licensing and activation
When you try or use one of our plugins, the plugin contacts our licensing server to run your free trial, activate your licence and check it is still valid. For this we process:
- Your email address and order details, received from our Shopify store when you buy, so we can issue your licence and send you your licence key.
- A computer identifier, a one-way scrambled code made on your computer. It can't be turned back into your hardware details.
- Your computer's name and platform (Windows or Mac), so you can tell your computers apart on the My Plugins page.
- Dates and times of activation and of the plugin's check-ins.
- Sign-in codes, stored only in scrambled form and deleted after use or after 10 minutes.
Why we use it: to provide the plugin you bought and enforce its licence terms, which is necessary for our contract with you, and to prevent misuse, which is our legitimate interest.
Where it is stored: on our licensing server, run on Cloudflare. Sign-in and licence emails are sent through Brevo. Both act as our data processors.
How long we keep it: for as long as you hold a licence, and up to 6 years after for our business records. Trial records are kept so a trial can't be restarted on the same computer.
Your choices: you can deactivate any computer from the My Plugins page in your account at any time. To ask for a copy of your data or for it to be deleted, contact us through borntoproduce.com/pages/support. Deleting your data ends your plugin licences.
