Which DAW does this course use?
This course works with any DAW - Cubase, FL Studio, Ableton, Logic Pro, or anything else. Song structure and arrangement principles are universal, so whatever software you use to make music, everything you learn here applies directly.
Is this suitable for complete beginners?
This course requires you to know your way around your DAW of choice. It's not designed for someone who has never opened music software before. If you've completed one of our beginner DAW courses or have equivalent experience, you're ready. The focus here is entirely on arrangement and structure, not DAW basics.
Do I need music theory knowledge?
No formal music theory is required. Module 2 covers harmonic song structure in a practical, accessible way. That said, if you've completed our Music Theory Tutorial, you'll get even more out of the harmonic and melodic sections of this course.
Is this only for electronic music producers?
Not at all. While many of the examples lean towards electronic genres, the principles of song structure, tension and release, contrast, and transitions apply to every genre of music.
