In this first Module, your tutor Jay starts off with the basics and explains exactly what MIDI is and what's it's used for. You'll learn that you can draw in the information or play it live via a MIDI controller (and how to plug in an external MIDI device). Jay also explains what types of tracks are typically used for MIDI and all the different ways in which to record and program MIDI data in to compliment your tracks.
In the second Module, we move onto editing the MIDI data. We show you how to use all the various editing tools available and what they're used for. We also cover how to tidy up the performance with quantize and iterative quantize and swing. Following on from that, you'll discover that you can create a drum map from your MIDI to make it easier to program drums. To finish off, you'll learn tricks such as transposing and easy chord building.
