Module 1 - Intro & Recording

In this first Module, your tutor Jay starts off with the basics and explains exactly what MIDI is and what's it's used for. You'll learn that you can draw in the information or play it live via a MIDI controller (and how to plug in an external MIDI device). Jay also explains what types of tracks are typically used for MIDI and all the different ways in which to record and program MIDI data in to compliment your tracks.

Module 2 - Editing

In the second Module, we move onto editing the MIDI data. We show you how to use all the various editing tools available and what they're used for. We also cover how to tidy up the performance with quantize and iterative quantize and swing. Following on from that, you'll discover that you can create a drum map from your MIDI to make it easier to program drums. To finish off, you'll learn tricks such as transposing and easy chord building.

Module 3 - Creativity

The last Module teaches you how to get creative with the MIDI within your project. We do this with the help of MIDI Modifiers and Inserts. You'll learn how to instantly produce a funky arpeggiator or create a cool drum loop within seconds via the Beat Designer. Jay finishes off with some general tips and tricks from his vast experience and how to import and export MIDI, in case you are working with someone using a different DAW or who is not local to you.
